Caramel Pecan Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 cup halved pecans
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Cut 1/4 cup of butter into cake mix until crumbly
  3. Press into 11 x 17 inch ungreased pan
  4. Top with pecans
  5. In a sauce pan, combine sugars, butter, and honey
  6. Boil over medium heat, for 3 minutes, stirring constantly
  7. Remove from heat, stir in cream and mix well
  8. Pour evenly over pecans
  9. Bake for 17-22 minutes, or until the entire surface becomes bubbly
  10. Cool completely and cut into bars
  11. Makes about 48 bars
